Human Torch #7-10 (2004): Plague of Locusts

Johnny investigates a charitable program called Locust Project, which is up to no good in the Balkans.

Karl Kesel is a good writer and Skottie Young is a good artist.  But this story sucks.  Maybe Human Torch just isn’t that interesting on his own?  I can’t think of a single Johnny-solo book that was really good.  Back in the ‘60s he got some solo adventures, which weren’t terrible for the time but are entirely forgettable but for the introduction of Plant-Man.

Oh well.  This series will be cancelled in a few months anyway.
