This story is titled, “The End?” but, sadly, it’s not. This issue focuses on Dr. Malcolm Colcord, who revived the Weapon X program. Militant mutant resistance recently destroyed the program’s base and then, last issue, Agent Zero killed nearly everyone in that resistance group.
Aurora (who develops a third personality in this story, which has super speed) strands Colcord and Madison Jeffries.
Then, she pummels him. No one deserves a beat down more than this guy, but the “Paf” sound effects minimize any kind of dramatic impact.
The rest of the issue has Colcord hallucinating things like being stalked by Wolverine. Can’t a guy just be an evil anti-mutant bigot without being plagued by a guilty conscience?
Anyway, his Logan hallucination partners with him and Jeffries to rebuild the Weapon X program (again).
So we’re rebooting. Ugh.
