This series takes place during the time that Bruce Banner was on the run from the law. During his great American road trip, he connects with a group of kids who are also on the run from the government, who is trying to capture and experiment on them. They’re called the “Nightmericans.”
Banner decides to help them, and learns that they have been mutated into monsters by the government in an effort to create super soldiers. He destroys the lab and the conspiracy in the end.
The story beats here are fairly familiar, but it’s told well by Robin Laws, who is an RPG designer. Ashmore’s art is interesting–but the covers are the best. If you get all six issues, the covers show Hulk beating on the fourth wall, trying to hit you–the reader.
