This story is billed as the “final entry” in the war journal (but this series continues for another year so…no it’s not) and it takes place after Punisher “died” in Suicide Run. So he goes around killing criminals who are in hiding. Meanwhile, Lady Punisher does her thing against VIGIL.
The mob family Carbone figures out that Punisher is alive and starts to hunt him. This will become important when the “Over the Edge” event happens.
These issues loosely overlap with the issues of Punisher that were coming out t the time, and there were back-up features that appeared in these issues. All of it is consistent, albeit jumbled, and all of it is building towards the Over The Edge event. But really none of it is essential.
