The creative team tries something different. This series has been focusing on the “evil” within Department H, Alpha Flight’s government employer, and in this issue we watch a single employee who works on “Floor 13,” where the Department’s scientists are experimenting on Woodgod.
The employee has compassion for Woodgod and warns Puck about what the Department is doing–and they kill him.
I appreciate the effort to tell a different kind of story here. It doesn’t work as well it should because so many of the story beats about Department H are predictable.
