Hatred/fear of mutants has been a core part of the shared Marvel universe for nearly all of its existence. This story kinda turns that around. A mutant named Davis is afraid of the increasing influence of Asgardian Gods in the affairs of Earth, and tries to take down Thor.
He fails and dies in the end—committing suicide but making it look like he was killed by Thor. Standing over his body, Thor and Balder question whether Davis’ death will become an issue for the mortal resistance to Asgard’s expanded role on Earth.
