“Mourning” takes place after Thunderbird’s death, and has Professor X mourning the loss. The character appears in flashbacks. We also see his younger brother, Jamie Proudstar, who will later become Warpath and try to kill Professor X. This is, canonically, his earliest appearance.
Another beautifully drawn, well-written short story.
