PROFESSOR XAVIER AND THE X-MEN #1-18 (1995-1997)

I’ve been on the fence about covering this comic. I mean, it’s definitely canon. It goes over stories we’ve seen before and adds details and gloss to the team’s early days. It also was the obvious precursor to later (and better) comic series that did the same thing–the best of the lot being X-Men First Class.

The series was in Marvel’s .99 cent line of comics–designed to attract newer–and younger–readers. That’s actually a solid (and important!) idea, since without a “next generation” of readers, the medium will die (is dying, actually).

Nothing about this series was bad per se, it just wasn’t all that interesting.

So I think I won’t cover it.
