At an annual convention, Iron Man has graciously agreed to demo his capabilities, so Cord’s “Raiders” try to make him look bad–Cord Conglomerates President Ed Cord creates disruption via three armored thugs.
Iron Man defeats them, of course.
Also at the con are Cross and Roxxon. The former is the company responsible for hijacking Tony Stark’s armor and using it to assassinate a diplomat, and the latter is full of all kinds of evil including the Deathlok technology. I think this is the first time we’ve seen all the heads of the various munitions corporations and conspirators in the same place. Kinda neat.
At least Cord gets arrested in the end.
Despite the arrest, though, The Raiders escape and will return.
