SPIDER-MAN HOLIDAY SPECIAL (1995)

As with most Holiday Specials, the stories are superficial and light, and the issue is not essential. It’s not bad though. Even with Ben Reilly Spider-Man.

Kevin Maguire draws the lead story, which is a treat.

He fights Scorcher.

I’ve largely boycotted writing about the extended Clone Saga period, but this Holiday Special was okay.

Then a Black Cat story that has no words.

After that, Venom gets the holiday spirit…

He stops some bad guys who mug Santa.

Aunt May gets a brief solo story before the final chapter.

We close with a Human Torch/Ben Reilly team-up at the Statue of Liberty, where Johnny learns that there is a new Spider-Man after Johnny summons Spidey for their annual bromantic meeting at the Statue of Liberty.
