Before I roll my eyes and say, “Not another story where Surfer has to save his home planet and his true love that ends with him both not going home and not staying with Shalla Bal,” I’m going to give this book a chance.
Zenn-La, his home planet, has disappeared into the mind of a giant brain with eyes. Moondragon transports him, psychically, into the big brain, where he finds Shalla and saves his planet. And they have some reunited bliss…
But Shalla Bal has to stay behind in the psychic world in order to transport Zenn La to the real universe.
So they end up separate again.
Sigh.
