In its second issue, MKDS starts with a Nick Fury story. Now, Nick Fury stories are usually bad (except when they’re created by Jim Steranko), so despite the fact that last issue went above and beyond any reasonable hope for an anthology title, I remain pessimistic…And, once again, this comic defies expectations. Grant F-ing Morrison writes this thing, which has multiple fake-outs before a terrific punchline. It also plays with the idea that Nick Fury can predict everything by knowing everything–down to the behavior of his own body…
Not going to spoil it, but if they ever offer Morrison a Nick Fury series, I hope he says yes.
(Apparently, there were negotiations for a series that fell through.)
The second story is by Ted McKeever, who has already proven to be a great creator of Man-Thing stories.
