Last issue ended with Ego appearing, and this arc begins with Worldmind telling Richard that Ego will now serve as new Xandar. The Fantastic Four have concerns, and when Richard Rider is unable to assuage them, Worldmind calls in Rich’s brother Robbie. Worldmind also suggests that Richard is becoming unstable.
…And then strips Richard of his Nova powers.
This causes Richard to return to Project Pegasus to see if their scientists can tell if he’s losing his mind.
Meanwhile, Worldmind kicks the volume up to 11 with its recruitments for new Nova Corps members, bringing thousands of earthlings into the fold.
Turns out, he IS going crazy–but it’s Worldmind’s fault. And Richard shows his brother and Inari that the same thing has happened to them…
…After which Worldmind kicks Richard’s ass and tells him to butt the Hell out. On top of that, Project Pegasus finish their studies and conclude that Richard has suffered molecular decay as a result of his connection with Worldmind and will be dead in two days.
